A budget workstation for £600-700 Excluding VAT.

Core unit only including case (One with an LED preferably :X), no windows, no peripherals necessary.

The work is mostly web and document related. Excel and millions of tabs in his browser :)

Thanks in advance.

p.s. This is for my boss, hence the case LED -_-. Also sorry for not stating budget in title. I just noticed that.

both would be fine for doc's and multi browser pages open, went for 16gb with both, intel i5 will be faster, but either would do fine tbh

no idea of your data needs so add sdd for boot / office & cache drive only with 2tb for storage

no need to spend to budget, unless a better case or high spec psu is needed, but not called for as psu is plenty and a good one

plus doesn't want a windows case either Leprechau, plus oem not only doesn't have cooler with it, but poor warranty at a year, retail comes with fan and 3 years warranty for same money, your sdd is quicker and bigger, but hdd slower being the green low power lower spin type, plus quote" work is mostly web and document related. Excel and millions of tabs in his browser" means to me more ram, 8gb is nice, but more is always better as no slow down with so many pages open etc.....

changed case and psu for a platinum one, both ott tbh but given choice as still way under budget and parts dont need altering unless asked for etc

no OC fan inc, as not needed, for work not gaming and as no programs mentioned would even need more speed, gone for rock stable instead, was thinking liquid cooling for less noise as budget would allow it easy...

Cheers guys, we're going with the £594 budget from Zak.

He'll be running two monitors, think there's a need for a GFX card or from mobo should suffice?

Mobo has D-Sub, DVI and HDMI so can run 2 monitors provided you have adapeters or adapters are supplied.

Not a fan of that Antec case personally. Its good quality but a case is always subjective to opinion.

change case from any, which would you have?

as i like the antec 300 which everyone here says is old and poor now days, but i love it but didn't use it this time :)
