Hey guys am after a spec just basics are.. I5 I can over clock, motherboard with on/off USB charge and has to be mainly black (can have red on) 8gb Ram, and a good cooler. (Again a dark colour)

Here's my bits I intend to re-use or use

Cooler master m600 psu (few month old)
64gb m4 ssd, 320gb hdd, 120gb hdd.
Bitfenix spectres, bitfenix recon
Bitfenix ronin (when it arrives)
Gainward Gtx 560ti phantom

I don't say I'd have a budget but I'd pay more for a good board and cooler if I like em.

Use the stock cooler untill the H100 arrives and if you don't like the mobo, HERE is another one. This setup will also allow you to go SLI/xFire in the future.

197 for haswell! Ouch thought it was retailing same as ivy almost. I don't need a psu mines semi modular and ill only ever run a single card setup as future plans would send me down itx route if it takes off :)

Is there any good 1tb drives about cheap now too? I think I need one really storing between 2 drives is a real pita

Tried to stick closer to the theme, at the possible sacrifice of some features.

This memory would be idea to go with the Black and red theme but OCUK don't stock it at 2133MHz / 2400MHz speeds.

I knew the board and memory would be the biggest issues to get right. I like that
Board but its missing a lot of features the two gigabyte boards above have! The one on this week only looks good but it seems a lot considering I have one card.. Is it too overkill. I don't intend to get another card either anytime soon I'd probably upgrade to a much better card

The MSI board dose have a few nice features they are just very heavily gaming orientated.

Would a powered USB hub solve the issue of lack of on / off charge?

It isn't an absolute must its just a feature I have always desired for my wireless mouse to charge overnight. Could just plug it into a mains USB hub or a powered USB hub I guess. Also the on that board yeah a lot is for gaming.. I don't use LAN I use wifi for one, I use headphones with 7.1 built in so a lot of features would go to waste. Is LP ram still the best way forward? I like the high stuff with heat spreaders but if I ever go and move to big air it's gona cause me problems ?

Low profile RAM helps if you are using coolers which cover some of the RAM slots like the K2, D14 and Phatenk TC-14PE.

If you are going with a CLC like the H80/100, high profile will be fine and give you something to oogle at if you have a side window.

The h100 wouldn't be an immediate decision I'd go big air right now until I see the true failure rate of these refurbs. I can always buy twice if I need too I'd rather not have new hardware leaked on haha

Here are the top 3, but you'll need low-pro RAM. The Patriot RAM fits under it will a good cm clearance.

Probably the k2. I can imagine overclocking on that would give some
Good temp results

Sticking with a black theme using k2 would mean I don't have to change the fans

The K2 is amazing.

I bought this after the forum members recommended it and it's amazing. My only suggestion would be to replace the stock fans for a single TY-147. It does the job of both and a little more.

There is black version of the Phanteks PH-TC14PE.

I have the PH-TC14PE.

With both fans installed it completely covers all 4 of the RAM slots on my Motherboard, without the fans the metal heatsink overhangs 2. I doubt you will get tall RAM under it.

So low profile ram with the phanteks covers all the slots.. Sounds big. As I said before though I'm putting it in a ronin so tbh I would like to see my ram ;) how much does the k2 cover
