Hello,

Can somebody spec me a good monitor to go with the 2080 Super. Something with Gsync would be good and as big as possible for around £400 - £500 ?

Thanks

VA panel - not the best performing. Depends whether you are sensitive to the ghosting on them. But that panel IS the cheapest 3440x1440 144hz at OCUK.

Otherwise you are looking at a tsandard panel ratio such as

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/acer...-widescreen-led-gaming-monitor-mo-141-ac.html

Have a read of this https://www.displayninja.com/ips-vs-tn-vs-va/

Each panel type has it's own issues

A 4k High hz screen, you wont get one for less than £850

I'd go for a freesync (G-sync compatible) Many freesync will work with Nvidia cards anyway.
I’ll read the link tomorrow.

i’ll mostly be gaming on the system. Fps like pubg, cs, fortnite etc so it does need to ideally have no ghosting issues.

i assume i’d be looking at a smaller screen size like 27” then

I'm not an expert but will do my best to explain.

Gsync/Freesync is basically a technology that allows more frames to be consumed by your monitor than your monitor can handle without tearing (a bit like VSync does). i.e. if you card can run a game at 200fps but your monitor is only 60hz then you will get massive screen tearing unless you cap the card to only do 60fps which is a waste if your card can do more. Running that same screen at 200fps in that example will look terrible. Gsync/Freesync still limits the frame rate but does it in a more elegant way than Vsync used to. Refresh rates were always amazing on TN panels but they look washed out and are terrible from an angle. IPS has always looked the best panel wise but suffers from it's own issues of glow and bleed, until recently it couldn't refresh fast enough for some games (like FPS) so it lagged. LG and others are finding ways to solve that though. VA and cheaper IPS suffer from terrible ghosting.
So what is the response time all about ? Obviously 1ms is better than 4ms but is it actually noticeable different ?

To be honest i went ahead and brought the Gigabyte FI27Q.

I couldn't be waiting around for the LG, was told end of the month, then told could be longer, i just didn't see the point. The screen is good and realistically i wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them.

Thanks for your help though. Its a shame OC couldn't give an exact date of when the LG would be instock, but i assume judging by the thread on them that once they get stock they'll all be gone anyway cos it seems a lot of people have pre ordered them.

Seems OC have started getting stock back on the LG as people who ordered a week ago got their shipment details today.
Just my luck lol

Looking at the fi27q myself
Can you update with your
Experience of it please

Well i am by no means a Monitor specialist but,

I like it. I went from a 27" Acer to this FI27Q and the difference is brilliant.

I can't notice any bleed on mine at there is no lag or anyting when playing pubg on high settings.

Easy to setup and the stand is sturdy. The only thing is the stand is deep. The back of the stand is touching my wall and the monitor is easily 5 inches from the wall, so if you don't have a deep desk beware. I must say i'm really happy.

I have not and likely will not mess with any colour settings unless i come across a guide somewhere, but i honestly think its brilliant.
