spec my dad a Mac

Just to reiterate, apple was £80, buying 4gb of laptop ddr3 new is £70.

*was* £70 possibly, it (now, in the present day) can be had for £54 including postage, obviously I can't link though but I found that price after about 10 seconds of looking. So for someone buying now (in the present day) they could save nearly £30 and still keep their old RAM as spare. Seeing as the guy in this thread is looking to buy a MacBook now and not a month or so ago then he could end up saving quite a bit.

Why are so many Apple owners so defensive about anything they purchase and feel the need to justify it so much, even to the detriment of people buying now.

well clearly I'm not, as I didn't..... :/

I didnt realise that ddr3 sodimms had dropped that much as OCUK normally keep on top of memory prices pretty well. I also upgraded the entire contents of my mac mini myself so I'm not anti user upgrades. I just generally assumed that things hadn't changed that much.
