My GF would like a new pc, doesnt want anything fancy, apart from a 'pretty' case. Aslong as she can use internet and do what ever she does. Have even thought of a Small Form Factor PC. So spec away lads... Spec away :D

im not sure if the graphics needs upgrading as do whatever she does is a bit vauge, for all i know she could be playing WOW on highest graphical setting on a 30" screen

revised for gaming, maybe overkill though

i thought about using a antec basic PSU here as in the first spec but i wanted a bit more power and the OCZ seemed better value PSU.

the x1950 may be overkill for sims 2

as with above the case is your GF's choice to make. needs to support a ATX MB though

Women tend to love SFF cases. They see them a 'cute'.....

You can get a Shuttle or something like my iDEQ with the custom mobo and PSU in, then just fill them with your own selection of hardware goodness. Tend to be smaller than the ATX based SFF cases.

Mac book + Win Vista?

tbh for her use it's probably best to just buy a ready made system, or is she being very specific about the case? (i.e. must have a cute case)

Build her a PC, don't bother with the Macbook, runs Sims rubbish and you can build a way better PC for the money. My girlfriend hates using my Macbook and prefers the other PC with a E2180 and HD2600Pro instead :P
