Spec Ops: The Line

No love for this?

Just tried the demo earlier, it's nothing earth-shattering but I quite liked it. Graphically it's quite pretty and there's some nice little touches. The squad doesn't quite seem like your typical foul-mouthed American special ops squad either (although they're not too far off).

Looks and plays a bit like a military Uncharted, ironic since Nolan North provided his voice for the main character in it.

8/10 from Eurogamer, good score, I genuinely wasn't sure if it would do that well.

Don't think I'll pick it up on Friday, but when it's a bit cheaper in a few months I'll look forward to it.

I've played the MP briefly and found it very frustrating and all my problems are in that video. Plus most of the time I had the problem where I just couldn't kill people. I'd drop instantly and people would just sponge bullets.

Been playing this the past few days, and it's absolutely superb. It's the victim of poor marketing and a poor title unfortunately (Spec Ops: The Line just screams low-budget generic shooter to me), and it's been marketed as "yet another" third-person military shooter but it's really nothing of the sort. The storyline is intelligent and compelling, the characters are superb with pretty good AI, and the visuals and level design are up there with Max Payne and Uncharted in terms of attention to detail. The game forces you to make some tough moral decisions and deal with the repercussions that follow; very unusual for a game of this type.

It's held my interest solidly for the past two days, which is something of a rarity for games these days. Highly recommended.

I played the single player liked it I'll probably play it again it was quite good. This and Sniper elite v2 were my two top games until recently.

I really liked the end. A really good twist. Some shocking set pieces on it that are quite disturbing, but i like how it shows the effects war can have on soldiers.

Thread ressurrection FTW!
I really enjoyed this game when I had it. Campaign was ace. MP not so much.
And,yes,it was the victim of bad marketing. It got good reviews but didn't sell many copies. Shame as it may hamper the chances of a sequel.
