edit.. i think the pic might be tooo big..
so heres the link
http://www.astrett.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/images/cvicek2.jpg

Im not sure about the Seagate HDD supposedly the 7200.11 are having some kind of issue ( i think i heard some one say that)

Any one else see any issues..

questions in my mind..
will the Heatsink fit in the case.. with that RAM (big heatsinks) on that board?

The PC is meant for gaming and will upgrade to SLi when the money comes along..

Thank very much

T1rez and his mates!

First question, what on earth will you/they be doing that requires 8gb of Ram? And relatively expensive Ram at that. If you really want to get 8gb then I'd go with something like the Corsair PC6400 or GSkill PC6400 and save a good £25-30 per kit.

I'd probably suggest the Corsair HX 620w which is still on This Week Only and more than capable plus is modular so easier to tidy.

I'm not too sure about the case as I haven't heard that much about it, however with the money saved in other areas you could easily go for something like the Antec P182 although you might need extension cables for some of the power cables if you want to route neatly.

yes i wasnt convinced by the need of 8 gig.. but its what the user wants so i cant argue..

He doesnt mind spending up to the budget so.. hence the choice in that RAM..

are you sure 620 will be enough for Sli ?? i have to use 800 watts for my system.. and its a one card system!

IMO would get/wait for nForce 7-series mobos.

If your mate is using the rig just for gaming then 8GB is overkill. 2~4GB is the norm & the latter requires a 64-bit OS to fully utilise ;)

As mentioned, the HX 620W is a pretty decent PSU. Not only is it cheaper & modular BUT also powerful. See here

This is pretty much bang on the budget but includes a better graphics card and arguably a better case as well. It still includes 8gb Ram with an Nforce 780i based motherboard which seems to have pretty decent specifications. :)

Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 doesnt work in the Asus P5N-T, tryed 2 sets today it just causes random lockups. Might aswell go the GTX route as no TriSLI with GTS's

How about GSkill PQ/PK or OCZ Gold Series or even Geil Black Dragon 4gb? They are all cheaper.

I'm personally not a huge fan of SLi for most but I'd have thought that dual SLi from the 8800GTS on that motherboard would be more than sufficient for all but the most hardcore gamers.

Panmaster, by my reckoning that is 4gb for £140 but I'll take your word for it that it works very well with the motherboard. Not entirely sure why you would need PC8500 though unless you are seriously overclocking since without phase or similar you are unlikely to need much more than PC6400 can provide given that 400mhz for the Ram multiplied by the 9x of the Q6600 leads to 3.6ghz which is fairly decent.

I've tested OCZ SLI and Dominator ram in this board, I tryed Crucial Ballistix Tracer and i couldnt get a 10mhz overclock. Geil Black Dragon 4gb seems to work tho i didnt have time to try overclocking with it fitted. TBH its a highend board and it needs high end ram, cheapy stuff just doesnt cut it.

As for TriSLI its nice to have the option to use it in the future, It may not be great atm but who knows what will happen :)
