Hi

Can anyone tell me if I should get the 2 x 460's or 1 x 480, mates at work keep telling me to get the 480 and get another one next year but I dunno if I will have the cash or not, anyone shed any pros cons here or suggestions.

Spec I will be building soon -

Intel Core i7 950
Asus P6X58D-E Intel
Corsair XMS3 (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Triple Channel
1GB MSI GTX 460 HAWK Graphics Card x 2
Lancool Dragon-Lord PC-K62 Mid Tower - Red Dragon Windowed Edition
Crucial RealSSD C300 64GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache
Samsung SH-S223C/BEBE 22x DVD±R, 12x DVD±R, DVD+RW x8/-RW x6, SATA, Black, OEM
Corsair Professional Series™ Gold AX850
NZXT Sentry 2, Touch Screen Fan Controller, 5.25"
Noctua NH-D14 Dual Radiator and Fan Quiet CPU Cooler

Thanks

Nice spec.

I would suggest going for two GTX 460s in SLI. My reasoning is:

- The average framerate in almost all games will be a fair bit better than a single GTX 480.
- By the time your GTX 460 SLI setup (or single GTX 480) is struggling in modern games, the GTX 400 series will be rather old tech. At this point you would be much better off simply selling the existing card(s) and buying new tech than buying more GTX 400 series cards will seem like madness.

Thanks guys, its what I needed to hear tbh, I think I've finally got my final selection together then after the last month or so deciding lol, sick of reading reviews and multiple forums now.
