Did some research before i order. Thinking of getting 2 more GB of RAM later on and another 3850 next month.

What do you guys think?
Coming from an X4200+ @ 2.53Ghz.

Thanks for the feedback.

You could save a bundle by getting PC2-6400 RAM instead of what you have there. Since running 1:1 is just fine, you'd have to overclock the CPU to 3.6 GHz before even hitting the stock speed of PC2-6400. Perhaps spend just as much but get a 2 x 2 GiB kit. and put the money you'd spend later toward a better CPU heatsink such as the tuniq Tower 120.

I'd agree with Billy's advice there. One question though, what graphics card do you currently have and is it PCI-E? I'm sure it is fine but sometimes the obvious gets overlooked.

Yeah i am aware of the fact that one PCI-E lane runs on 4X but i am not sure of how much that affects the performance of the card running at the 4X lane? Does it take a huge hit?
