But what's the surface like compared to other high quality mats.
I can't compare this to other high quality mousepads because both of mine are over ten years old and of the very lowest quality. One was free when I took out my Woolwich mortgage over 15 years ago... which I guess means it's older than some of the people posting on these forums. Now that is scary!

Both are cheap, foam-backed, stiff plastic pads which appear to be indestructible... though they have collected a few dents over the years. Nothing to stop them being perfectly functional, but it was probably time for an upgrade, and the value for money offered by the Boogie (it will cut up into roughly 6 'normal' sized pads) was hard to resist. So I didn't, though normally I wouldn't be seen dead buying anything with the name "Boogie Bug".
Thank gawd for mail order.

First reactions: compared to the low friction shiny plastic I'm used to it'll take a little adjusting to. The fabric is lightly textured rather than rough and very pleasant to rest your hand on. There is more friction, but I'm getting used to that even while thinking about and editing this post, and even though my MS bog standard optical mouse has lost three of its 'teflon' feet, I'm having no problems or inconvenience on this new surface.
My heavier Logitech wireless mouse (M505), with its teflon corners still attached, is probably slightly less pleasant to use on the new surface. But I don't actually use that mouse very often because it's a heavier than I'd like anyway, so it tends to live in my laptop bag.
I'm definitely enjoying the fact that this surface is so big... and I'm only using about 1/3rd of it which I cut off straight away. I was going to cut it in half again, but having something I can rest my whole forearm on is proving to be a welcome improvement already. In fact I can see the attraction of leaving it in one piece as a desk work surface.
However I'm about as good at controlling my coffee as BP is at controlling its oil, so when the inevitable spill occurs I'll have plenty in reserve while this section is cleaned.
Bottom line of this far too wordy report is... I would definitely buy this again. Even if it does have a daft name.

After taking my old mats for granted for so long (they were essentially invisible to me) I'm already wishing I'd done this ages ago.
