Hi,

It's been a while (3 years or more) since I built a PC and I would like your opinion on the following equipment:

CP-127-IN Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13GHz (£146.86)
MB-061-GI Gigabyte Motherboard GA965P-DS3 (£82.24)
MY-058-GL GeIL Memory 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz (£123.36)
GX-033-BG BFG Geforce 7900 GS OC 256MB (£119.84)
CA-010-TT Thermaltake VB1000BNS Case (£49.34)
CA-005-CS Corsair HX 520W PSU (£70.49)
CD-044-PO Pioneer DVR-112DBK DVD ReWriter (£21.14)

Total cost is £630.83 (inc delivery) and my budget is around £600. I already have HDD (WD Raptor) and screen (Samsung TFT).

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Teufel

I have the same GFX card and it doesn't require a lot of power, so to be honest, I would maybe knock down the PSU to the Corsair 520w and then use the extra money to get 2Gb of RAM - What do you use your system for? If it's for gaming then I would say get 2Gb :)

Agreed.

Also think about downgrading the CPU to an E6300 and upping the graphics card to something like the 1950PRO. Much better use of the cash tbh.
