As part of my duties I have to perform interviews. We use an external transcriber to transcribe the recordings, but this is costly and slow.

I therefore looked at Speech Recognition Software and found this:

It seems pretty cool, but I fear I am getting more than I need. I don't want to control my PC, I just want to transcribe a recording/on the spot. Do you guys know this software? Is it any good? Do you know of any better ones?

TIA :)

Voice recognition software will never work in an interview situation - for a start you won't be able to train it to the other persons voice. It might pick up your side of the conversation if you speak unnaturally.

Exaclty, Voice recongition software needs to define perameters to get around accents etc. I'm this situation, it's unlikely to be accurate enough for your purpose.
