Hi

I'm just looking for something cheap that I can leave in the car to warn me when there's a speed camera (including mobile ones) around. I've already have a navman satnav and rarely use it. I wouldn't mine getting a newer satnav but it seems pointless and I would prefer something smaller I can leave out on display without the worrying that my windscreen will get smashed.

I heard a few months back that 'no worries' place had a tiny bar shaped one for £30 pounds, did anyone get this if so whats the make and model.

Thanks

Mobile speed cameras are usually lasers, so detectors are a waste of time (if it beeps, you've already been had).

not true, my old man has one and ive been in the car when a slight adjustment has been needed after a beeping session and no ticket has been found.

To calculate your speed the device need to track you for a certain amount of time I would guess.

A laser handheld (Unipar for example) will get you in tenths of seconds.

You might get lucky if them gunning another car sets your device off but at the end of the day if you hear it beep and its a laser as opposed to a radio jobby you are screwed.

Lazer detection really does depend on the road, if its a long road and there are dozens of cars in front you, the detector may pick up the beam from a longer distance and beep accordingly.

If your the only car on the road, then no amount of distance will help you. So if it beeps you've probably been done.
