Quick question.... are they entirely legal? I know loads of highstreet shops sell them, but what would happen if you were stopped and a policeman saw you had one? Would you be in trouble?
Yes GPS devices are perfectly legal: from the road safety bill they: "compliment the Government's policy to ensure that camera sites are visible and conspicuous to drivers" and allow you to "identify the places where extra care should be taken. " , it doens't mention Radar detectors, but I beleive they are still legal ? not sure how long it'll be before they arn't though. Blockers have always been illegal
Laser detectors generally aren't worth the money, for the simple reason that in 99% of cases by the time they've detected the laser hitting your car you're already nicked (if you are speeding - childkiller ). My origin B2 has a laser detector and it's useless, as the three points I picked up after the Silverstone meet will attest
If you buy one you may get lucky and save yourself three points, but don't rely on them.
