The other day, whilst driving along minding my own business, I think I may have been caught speeding. There was an officer on the side of the road with a hand gun and i think i was going roughly 35 in a 30, however, he didnt signal me over.

Do these camera take your reg number and send you a letter?

If I was speeding will I get straight 3 points or the option for driver awareness?

They creep up on you in bed and give you a wedgie..

No.

I saw a police man with a camera on a tripod facing the traffic.. I drove past him at 40 in a 30 as i wasn't paying attention.

I don't know if he was doing speeding or not but i never got a letter.

Then again he may have been looking for banned or uninsured drivers...

You should have turned around and run him over just to be sure he couldn't send you a ticket.

If you don't hear anything within 2 weeks you're in the clear.

If it was a hand held gun then no worries. They pull you over there and then for it, its just a speed reader there is no number plate recording.

if its a gun camera then dont worry. it only records speed. he'll need pull you over and issue you a ticket

Ah ok, I was under the impression it was 4?. But to be completely honest, I don't know where I got that from haha

That's what I was hoping, but then I thought how would he catch me if I didn't pull over......he had no vehicle?.

Theres usually someone waiting up the road, he maybe thought 35 in a 30 wasnt worth it

Was he holding the gun in his left or right hand? If it was his left hand you'll be fine, if however it was the right hand then prepare to get your backdoors kicked in!

I've heard conflictingness about this. People who say nope, others who say they have recieved NIP from coppers on flyovers with radar guns..

if your speedo said 35 you were probably only doing 32, 33 mph so you'd probably not get a ticket.

maybe using a gearbox that lets you goto 96mph ? i could be wrong

His vehicle will be 'hidden' somewhere.

From experience a dude with a gun needs to 'catch' you. So next time if you think you're doing 35 in a 30 drive it like you stole it.
