Hello all

I have an issue with my internet speed when downloading. I have a 20mb connection and when i download i get a speed of 2.2mbps. since installing Win7 after a couple of minutes of download at 2.2mbps my download speed drops below 300kbps and stays like that until i reset my super hub and then the same happens again. I have googled the problem but cannot seem to fix it.

Things i have already done:

1 updated my drivers for my network
2 updated my firmware for my superhub
3 disabled Ipv6 and switched from home network to public network
4 command prompted netsh int tcp set global chimney=disabled and netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled to change some of the win7 features

I have a laptop running windows Xp and i have no speed problems so i dont think its my hub.

Thanks for your time.

I dont think it is anything to do with fair usage or peak time because it happens every time i try downloading no matter the time of day.

What modem stats do you want? even tho i dont think its the modem because like i say i use a laptop on windows Xp with the same modem and i dont have the speed issue.

Are you connected via Wifi or ethernet? Apparantly the ethernet is the best to use on the superhub for speed and stability.

Have you turned off IP Flood Detection on the Superhub?

The video looks like it was a torrent download, does it happen when downloading via HTTP or Usenet?

I'd give Virgin a call. Could just a fault on the line.

Has it just happened recently, or has it been like this for awhile?

It only happens on my new windows 7 pc, it doesnt happen on my XP laptop

My guess is its some setting on my pc or something to do with my realtek network card.

Iv had them both hooked up next to each other downloading the same torrent and mylap top runs at full speed and the pc doesnt :S

I think the easy solution is to buy a 16gig pen drive and download the things i want on my laptop and transfer them over to my pc because i cant seem to find a solution to my pc's problem :(

Stuff like "command prompted netsh int tcp set global chimney=disabled and netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled to change some of the win7 features", shouldn't really have to be done. Same for disabling IPV6, it would probably cause more issues later than its worth.

Its most likely a driver issue if it only happens in Windows 7. Try uninstalling the network drivers, restarting and letting Windows install its own version and see if that works. These days, Windows provides most of the drivers anyway.
