Speed/ISP Problem

My ISP is Tiscali, about a week ago i received a letter about FUP, it said this is your third warning about using to much bandwidth, funny enough though it was my first. Since i dont do file sharing i was not at all please. So they will restrict my speed during peak times.

But during the day its really slow, during peak times its normal for a 2mb line. I have rung them up and they said contact the people that deal with FUP by email. So i have emailed them 4 times NOW and i still have not received a reply.

Anyone else on Tiscali know any other way i can get a hold of these people?

Also web pages load up fine but when i go to play a few games they just will not load?

If i do intend to switch which ISP do you all recommend, around the 20pound mark?

Hope you guys can help. Thanks.

Leave and find a better ISP mate. :) None of this FUP rubbish.

I'm with IDNet. Brilliant ISP imho.

They also have a very helpful forum, 1 month contracts (so if you don't like them you're not stuck), no traffic shaping or throttling.

I'm on their HomeMAX package. It costs £24.99 with a 30Gb usuage limit.

Hmm not too sure matey. I download quite a lot of things, such as demo's, mod's etc. And so far this has been my heaviest download month and I've only used 11Gb. :D

30Gb for a month is quite a bit imo. It's not over a year you see like most of those 12 month packages.

Try googling "Bandwidth Usage Calculator". You can fill in the details and it will come back with a rough estimate. :)

I think it's like... anytime?! I dunno really.... :)

If you do a quick comparison over at http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ you'll see how good they are. :)

Here's their website,

http://www.idnet.net/default.jsp

I activated mine over the internet as soon as I got my MAC code from my previous ISP. Then they simply emailed me all the details I needed etc to get connected at the date I specified. :)

 Every ISP I have seen does usage per month not year.

When I was looking for a ISP in October, IDnet was in second place. I chose Enta due to the generous off peak allowance (via Aquiss.)

Oh sorry, my bad on that one then. I assumed if it was a yearly contract that the usage was over the year. :o

Thanks for the replies just one question though.

Peak hours = 6pm to 11pm

Outside peak hours web pages loads slowly but they do load up and i can play online games fine, bit of lag but i can cope.

Then peak time comes web pages load up super quick but i cant play online game, WHAT?
