Speed up game loading times?

Where's this £300 for an ssd price come from? I know windows is bloated to hell but surely even 7 will fit on a 30gb drive with room to spare

I have a 320gb F1 as my main drive, and a 1TB F3 as a storage drive, only difference between them is the F1 has a 16mb cache and the F3 a 32mb. The seek times are identical on them.

30gb is nothing like enough, I've used over 40gb just installing windows and my software, that's with only a couple of my games installed aswell. I reckon I need a minimum of 64gb, and that will be cutting it a bit fine. 100gb would be a much better plan.
 
Pounds per GB with performance in mind... I'm very happy with the 300GB VelociRaptor.

It will speed up your loading times and is not ridiculous £/GB.
Fastest mechanical, affordable HDD IMHO.
 
If you want things to run faster cant you just load them from RAM? I remember playing with that when I had XP and it loads in seconds! Just go into your reg and I think its in Hkey_local_machine -> System -> Current control set -> Control -> session manager -> Memory manager and then change the value to 1 or 0 depending on what its on. or something like that. I can't reallu remember, was ages ago.
