Speeding and speed camera

are you sure you weren't travelling in the opposite direction the the Google car

No it was recorded at the time I was travelling home, so it was in that particular direction.

I remember on the way to Liverpool there there traffic leading up to the roundabout so it was the way that Google is facing.

The lines on the road suggest that either that camera can do both directions or there was another one there.

The Google photo could quite easily be out of sate and it is/ was facing the other way

Ask for the photo

I got my first speeding fine from this camera:

I'm on a motorbike which has no front reg plate, so how did the camera detect me?

Can I ask you how long it took from the speeding offence to getting the ticket?
I only ask because I braked hard just before I reached a Truvelo camera (same type as yours) and that was August 25th, 7 weeks ago. I'm assuming by now that it didn't get me, unless they can take several weeks to come through.

You're in the safe zone. I highly doubt you've been caught.

I was told by a traffic officer that the ticket must be issued within 14 day for it to be valid and that this is when it drops on your doormat not the date of the ticket itself.

Confirmed the 14 days here - https://www.gov.uk/speeding-penalties

By law, the vehicle’s registered keeper must be sent a notice of intended prosecution within 14 days of the alleged speeding offence.
Therefore you are about 5 weeks in the clear

That can't be right, surely? If that's the case, anyone could get off the speeding fine just by claiming the NIP didn't arrive?

I'm not sure on the arrival however the 14 days to be issued is right, therefore after 7 weeks it's pretty clear cut that the ticket hasn't been issued.

Did they send you a link to log in to to see the picture they took of your speeding? I got one but that was from a speed van not camera.

It happened on the 8th Oct.

Says I will get a £100 fine and 3 points. Thought it was just £60.:(

The 14 day thing is from the date the fine/letter was written/posted I believe?

It can take anything up to 6 weeks for a letter to even be generated from what I read last time I had a scare.
