I got my first speeding fine from this camera:

I'm on a motorbike which has no front reg plate, so how did the camera detect me?

That is set up to catch the rear of the passing vehicles not the front hence the lines are after the camera not before on the road.

The 14 day thing is from the date the fine/letter was written/posted I believe?

It can take anything up to 6 weeks for a letter to even be generated from what I read last time I had a scare.

No. The issuing force must send the NIP making every endeavour to ensure it reaches the registered keeper within 14 days. In practice this means they could leave posting the letter to day 13 after the alleged offence and post it first class.

It can take longer to get an NIP to the driver in such cases that the driver is not the RK (i.e company car drivers).

Once you receive the NIP you have 28 days to respond.
