Speeding fine document questions

If you apply for a replacement licence before the ticket office put points on the old one and inform the DVLA then there is a risk you could be accused of trying to hide the points.

Licenses have issue numbers and they will check that you have sent them the most recent copy when they go to put the points on.

A better plan would be to tell the camera partnership that you have lost your licence and can they please suspend the offence while you obtain a replacement. Needs to be done close to the time limit though or they wont suspend it, so it's risky.

good news, now for the e-penis. What speed were you caught at?

52mph (was accelerating upto 60) on a country lane with no houses just a USA army base with a 10foot high fence (+barbed wire top) between it and the road and no posted limits...

lesson learned, never assume higher limit. :( it was a 30.

my e-penis is massive right now. </sarcasm> :(

Can I confirm my e-peen size please?

Got pulled over a week ago Saturday. The officer in question appeared angry that it took him 4 miles to catch me up, ad that wasn't a standing start. He was VERY angry about this and told me that this sort of speed (c. 110mph indicated, A1M, late for a gig) was a court appearance etc. Apart from he didn't have a VASCAR system on board so I got 3 leaflets and lecture for my trouble. Which actually dicks me off having git 3 points/£60 for 81mph on the M180 a year back.

:D

If it only happened on the 13th May i assume you only have a Notice of Intended Prosecution asking you to fill in the drivers details? If so, send it back special on the 26th day (or before you go on holiday), when you get the Conditional Offer, you then have another 28 days to pay it - problem solved.

Unless you were actually pulled over and have to pay already, in which case ignore :p

Also there is no chance they will send it back recorded, i got mine back in under 2 weeks via first class though.

36 in a 30 is low, theres a chance you may be able to do a speed awareness course instead (if you ask nicely) which will mean nil points :)

That happened to my wife before we went to europe, all she did was rang the ticket people told them she was going away all they asked was the date she would be back and put the countdown on hold till she got back.

Not always true, some police forces send out a combined NIP and Conditional Offer. With this type of document, simply filling in the CO and sending your licence/£60 is taken as the admission of guilt and your license is endorsed straight away.

OP, which police force issued your ticket?

i'd already had a speed awareness workshop a few months ago which is a pain as i've been so careful since! typical, get two tickets in the space of a couple of months!

i called the office again the other day, and confirmed that if i send it recorded del, they process it the day it arrives and send it back recorded delivery too...that was someone else who confirmed it there so assume it's true. maybe different offices have diff methods, but we will see if guess

When I got pulled over in '96 for a red light, the police actually took the licence off me at the time (think that's when it was just paper) and told me it would be sent back with the endorsement and points.

It is a concern though if you have a fly-drive or similar booked so there ought to be a contingency - what if you were driving to the airport when it happened?
