Speeding offence technicality

Where does it say that? It just says he's in trouble after being caught speeding.

Cool photo though, but surely he'll still get done for it.

he probably will, if hes the registered keeper, if they have those rules over there, but he wasnt on the bike at the time :D

Went through a few links on that site and found this one

This is interesting, specifically the "and drinking coffee". Now sure in this case the combination of all those other things is the real problem, but what are people's thoughts on driving while drinking coffee? It's just something I do fairly regularly (though it's usually a frappuccino i.e. cold) and I often get some funny looks.

That's a novel way of trying to avoid a speeding ticket.

Neuchatel cops say they have no idea how fast his bike was going as it slid down the road in a shower of sparks, and they don't care. In fact, they say, if he'd tripped the beams going 3km/h faster, he'd have lost his license.

What license? His jaywalking permit? His tumbling certificate? He sure as hell wasn't riding his bike when he got flashed!

But seriously; the plod say Maier was probably going a lot faster when he spotted the camera.

"It appears that he suddenly saw the traffic control measure ahead and lost control as he tried to slow down."

They think he stomped on the rear brake to slow down, rather than grabbing a handful of front brake.

He was unable to handle the ensuing rear-wheel lock-up and the bike went down, spitting Maier off towards the right, which reinforces the cops' theory that he locked up the back wheel (the rear brake lever is on the right, Cyril, so his weight would have been displaced to that side).

The only good news is that Maier was wearing full protective gear and walked away with just a few cuts and bruises.

but they only have the speed of HIM not his bike....

does the law say anything about a person obeying a speed, can a runner get done for running faster than the limit in a 5mph zone??

My experience of Switzerland is that if you tried to go down that path the response would be "Hahaha do you think we are idiots?".

NO I DIDN'T SEE THE PICTURE THANKS SORRY

thats ok, the picture added the tiny bit of humour that i tried to convey with the thread, i OBV wasnt being serious as im not familiar in the slightest with the traffic laws of whatever country the biker is from, are you familliar with their traffic laws?

we should be taking the net MORE SERIOUS, tell me about the traffic law please thanks.

Id guess so as Cyclists/skaters can/have been done for speeding. NB: I mean they can/have been done for breaking a real speed limit, not the fake 5mph ones in car parks.

If I shot myself out of a circus cannon at 40mph past a 30mph speed camera, I could be done for speeding provided they could prove it was me.

excellent, which country is that for? ill try to remember when im passing through next

they would have a hard job identifying you, personally, unless you had the label hanging out your pants with your name on it. bear that in mind.
