Speeding offence technicality

If I shot myself out of a circus cannon at 40mph past a 30mph speed camera, I could be done for speeding provided they could prove it was me.

I'll get the cannon you get the number plate attached to your ass.....

as planes dont get done for breaking the 30mph limit, would a hovercraft get done as its not on the road?

surely you would be a passenger in the canon, unless there was a way to prove you were in control of the canon/tank?

I'm still raging about the grey squirrel case, filthy septic immigrant home wreckers!!!!

why would you necessarily be a passenger? if you were in control of the cannon, at the time, i feel morally you should punished TO THE FULL EXTENT OF THE LAW.

It seems that cyclists, aeroplanes, squirrels, and circus stuntmen on a public highway cannot be done by GATSOs and as such I retract my cannon statement. However as it was unlikely for the biker to have gained speed after he fell off his bike, I reckon he would be prosecuted for that in this country.

surely we are actually all speeding through space at 913.56 mph, making the actual 10ish mph we get nicked for actually pretty immaterial, the next time I get done I might raise this and see if I can bore the court into submission.

Bit off topic but does anyone remember the case of that Arizona cycalist who got fined for doing 68mph down a big hill ^^ ill try and dig out the link.

On a less funny note the was also the case in the UK of that speeding cyclist who hit and killed a teenage girl, he was fined £2200 and let walk free as the is no such thing as causing death by dangerous cycling under UK law :(

Not sure about that, isn't the offence of speeding with a motorised vehicle?

Just did a quick google and it seems the penalty for "speeding" with a bicycle comes under the offence of 'wanton and furious pedalling' :D
