Speeding

what if you have upgraded your brakes and have a shorter breaking distance, can u do 40 in a 30 and get away will mowing someone down, what about when kids play chicken with cars, i see it quite often near me, drive down the road and the kids are either side of the road, taking it in turns to run infront of a car, whos fault is that, well from accidents that i know of near me its always the drivers fault, they always get done for something, as someone has to be blamed, and its usually the driver, it ****es me off knowing the kids on my estate run in front of you at leasure and if you accidentally hit one itll be your fault, there was an accident near me earlier this year, 2 cars racing down a high street/ dual carriage way, with 4ft barriers seperating the 2 directions, a guy crosses the first carriage way jumps ove the barrier, onto the second carriage way gets hit by boy racer, dead, but its the boy racers fault even though the barriers are there to stop people crossing.

I find old people are becoming increasingly bitter (not all of them mind) towards the younger generations.

I was told I wasn't allowed to play football against MY fence (no debate on that one) because I'm just not allowed and the ball MIGHT hit his roof.

In a polite way I told him to find something better to do with his time.

Then a PCSO showed up.........

If you have a major crash and people die the first thing that gets checked is the tire marks on the road, why? So they can prove if one party was to blame through speeding or some other kind of dangerous driving, ie on the phone and all over the road.

They measure the marks on the road to see if speed could be a contributing factor. Just because they were speeding doesn't mean this lead to an accident.

Measuring the skid marks rarely produces any usable evidence unless the vehicle was travelling over the limit by a somewhat massive amount, its very inaccurate and has a very wide margin for error.

You can measure marks left by 10 identical cars that braked from the exact same speed and the will be a large difference depending on: Tyre tread depth, tyre brand/model, condition of discs/pads, make of discs/pads, age of brake fluid, etc.

I assume ABS systems mean that this method is pretty innaccurate as well?
