Speedstep keeps activating?

Okay, i turned Speedstep OFF in the BIOS...boot up and my clock speed is 1.2Ghz. I'm meant to be on 2.2Ghz and everytime i try and change it, nothing happens.

Am i missing a setting in Vista?

I run the laptop off the mains in 'High Performance'.

It used to always be 2.2Ghz and i have seen it that way before.

There is probably another option called CIE? (sp) if it’s a laptop I doubt you can turn it off in the bios tbh, download NHC (Notebook Hardware Control) excellent laptop application that lets you change to run at the full speed amongst some other goodies

I ran CoreTemp and it showed my CPU as 2.2Ghz...CPU-Z said 1.2Ghz..hmm.

CoreTemp now says 300Mhz..argh?! Hmm, i started to run SuperPi and it sped up again...
