... I thought that should be it's because it's a possessive? ie. the mouth belongs to the creature :/

"it's" is used as an abbreviation for "it is".

I thought when an s was added in a word signifying possession then 's is used?

Or is that only with names?

Good point - flaw in the quiz as it only deems one answer to correct, when both could be depending on the context.

I'm guessing;
Where are there offices?
is the 'second correct answer' because;
Where are they're offices? (Where are they are offices?)
makes no sense at all. But I don't see what possible context 'Where are there offices?' could be right?
