spend 100+ on another (sata150) raptor + raid, or buy 2 cheaper sata300's?

As the title says :)

I've currently got a Sata150 WD Raptor 74gb

I'm upgrading the rest of the system but here I have a dilemma

A 74gb Raptor costs just over £100 still.

Would I benefit more from buying another of these, setting it to Raid 0 or will I get faster drive performance from buying two 120gb Sata300 hdd's and raid 0'ing these?

Two 120gb Sata300's (7200rpm) I can get for around £35 each

The drives will be used for the operating system only, valuable data will not be stored on them so disk resilience is not an important factor.

2 * 74Gb Raptors in RAID0 will be quick, there are a few 7200rpm disks out there which will be as quick in RAID0 but there aren't many. The fact that the're SATA2/SATA300 doesn't make them any quicker.

The Hitachi 7K160 should be prety quick but I've not seen a RAID0 benchmark for these, only single drives - they're £34 ex vat a time for 160Gb.

Seagate's 7200.10 range will be as quick as a pair of Raptors but you're looking at £44 for the smallest one - 200Gb

The only other disk which is as quick is the new WD AAKS range, OCUK only have the 500Gb model at the moment for £80 a time.
