anyone know what a UK spider bite looks like ?

was gardening yesterday - didn't feel anything but today blister appeared, whole area including the red bit is raised and hard with a solid white bit in the top. feels like a burn

have been bitten by all sorts of things in all sorts of countries but never had anything look like this ?

any ideas ? for pure interest sake rather than worried aobut me keeling over !!

ta i -if its a spot then never had any spot like that before

I quite like nature - so I was just intrigued to know what could have caused it

ps I'm not worried my hand is going to fall off or anything - just was genuinely interested to see what people thought (:) ) as never had a bite or whatever it is look like that before

seems quite a few of our uk spiders bite ! just we don't come in contact with them much and they are not aggressive

we do have one quite nasty spider though ... T. agrestis otherwise known as the Hobo spider ... look up these in the states and they are quite feared ! bites can cause necrosis etc .... yes we do get them in the UK ... look for one in your shed !

why are they not known about much in the UK and are certainly not feared ... well because the T. gigantea or common large house spider preys on them - therefore tend to keep them out of the house. In the US they don't have T. gigantea.

not to worry anyone though - they are very difficult to tell apart !
