Dare I say early reports make this sound like it could be this years Batman AA?

Anyone else interested in this?

Probably my next game purchase. Last games I bought was Red Dead(PS3) and Joe Danger (PSN). Haven't seen any games that tickle my fancy since then, but this does look pretty good.

Not a chance - had a quick look at a few vids and the polish is nowhere near - expect it to be a good attempt but missing obvious stuff to make it great - like most Spiderman console games tbh...

Actually I really hate the concept - just seems so poorly thought out - really annoyed how little effort the developers have gone to make a Spiderman game work. I just hope each of the 4 Spiderman worlds are really fleshed out and made unique - but lets be honest is that really what you want in a game?

ps3ud0

Yup, have been playing Spiderman games for years and after some of the disappointments Activision have published I find it very difficult to get excited about them any more. Matching Batman AA? Not a chance!

Got this game today and have to say that so far its very enjoyable. Its very similar to Batman: AA.

Similarities include the combat, the humour, challenges, bosses and charachter bios etc. The story is the only slightly weak point compared to B:AA so far but there's enough there to keep me interested, but I won't spoil it. There's also replayability value if you're anal enough to want to complete all 180 challenges. IMO this game is worth a purchase if you love Spiderman but definitely worth a rent if you liked Batman: AA.

Love spidey and have a beady eye on this. However I am gonna wait. Can't help but feel that this is gonna be one that drops in price pretty darn quickly. Will defo pick up when it is cheaper.

I'm a massive Spidey fan, but have to admit I'm not loving this. I'm about 2/3 of the way through and while humour, level design and general idea is pretty good theres a certain something that is ruining the game for me. Combat, camera control, web swinging and crawling all seem a bit rubbish compared to the last couple of games also.

Doesn't come close to Batman:AA imo, and I much preferred Web of Shadows to this.

Just installing to HDD now, guides I've read suggest playing on easy first. Do you concur oldboy?

I don't concur :D

I started on hard and not found it difficult at all really, I'm hoping the achievements for completion stack. Still enjoying it and will be doing the final level tonight.

Ah right I might step it up then. Decided already to just play through the once. I like the challenges but wish they wouldn't stick in stupid collectables which are then part of the challenges. It means you have to collect the sodding things to get 180 challenges complete. So I won't bother.

I've finished two levels and I'm really enjoying it. I'm not keen on collectables as you know. I'm also a bit of a whore and it annoys me when so many achievements relate to the same thing.

Like there is an achievement for doing 180 challenges fair enough.
There is also an achievement for collecting 96 hidden spiders.

Now you can't finish the 180 challenges without collecting the spiders.

So without that you can't get enough 'money' to unlock the combat moves and character upgrades.

So I'm playing the game, enjoying it and enjoying the challenges but because I hate collectables and will end up with 160ish challenges instead of 180 done so much of the game won't unlock for me.

Collectables are gay, they ruin the flow of games I don't mind them being there but I hate it when you have to go looking for them, hundreds or more just to unlock parts of the game.
