Could there be anything worse to spill on a keyboard than Horlicks?

The tough old girl still works, but smells and the keys are sticky.

I have a unicomp keyboard that I only use for writing - it's no good for gaming.

I'd like a gaming keyboard for under £50. Has anyone used the Cyborg or Eclipse III?

Fair play that it still works. I'd like to say that cider would have been worse, as it's both acidic and alcoholic.

Can't recommend a gaming keyboard though, sorry.

I've also spilled water on it at least twice. I think that the board has a kind of draining system so that the fluid can filter out.

Awh mate! i once spilled my spaghetti bolognaise on my keyboard :(
I've been tempted myself to go for a Microsoft SideWinder, at the moment I'm using a Razer lycosa pretty sweet board though if I hadn't broken my space bar on my eclipse 2 id probably still be using that :P - buy another ;)

The Roccat is a bit out of my price range, though it does look awesome. What happened to the Eclipse III? I remember that it came out in the UK but I'm having a hard time finding it and it isn't sold on OCUK anymore...

Keyboards can be cleaned easily enough if you take them apart. You could probably soak it it warm soapy water and leave it to dry for a bit and it'd be ok.

I've wanted a new gaming keyboard for over a year but the truth is, you can't beat the saitek II, had mine the last 2-3 years now.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Logitech range and the Roccat but will you use half the crack attached to them lol, I know I wouldn't, I'd by a new Saitek II, they last long, well built and pretty cheap considering, btw stay away from Razer, They sell amazing gaming mice and pads but I've read a lot of worrying reviews about the keyboards.

If you really want a new keyboard, check out the Logitech G110, looks a very nice built keyboard, would be my choice :)

I've used the Cyborg, for a couple of weeks while a mate went on holiday.

Personally, I don't like the fact that it has really thick keys, and the Cyborg keys are a pain to setup.

However, the keyboard does look very good, and the lighting system is excellent.

I'd go for the Razor Lycrosa - as it has very think keys, like laptop ones, although it does depend what you like.

I saw a bit-tech review not long ago about what the best current gaming keyboard was based overall on price, performance, build quality, etc and the general consensus in the end was to just keep their eclipse IIs. I've thought about changing my eclipse II even though i've only had it for a year, but the only reason is because its getting on a bit now and like the look of these new logitechs. I've come to my senses though now and sticking with the trusty saitek ;)

I'd also move where you put your cup/glass. ;)

3 spillages. Will probably be a better investment (some mental energy and moving more) than a new KB (many pennies!)
I'm still happy with my G15 v2.

Handy if you use the likes of Vent & are trying to put voices to names/ use fraps etc.

Eclipse IIs are certainly sturdy well-built keyboards, mine's certainly been through the wars. Had orange juice, tea, squash, cider, wine, beer all spilled over it and it's still alive and kicking :)

Pop it in the dishwasher * at the lowest temp possible and without any tablet**

* I am not responsible for any problems incurred because of my suggestion.
** The tablet may bleach the plastic
