Hi,

I have a p6t deluxe v2 and just followed a guide to enable RAID (previously set to ACHI). I had to set a bit to 0 from 3 in the registry otherwise I would bluescreen.

I have 1 SSD for boot and starting to fill up my old SpinPoint HD103UJ 1TB. I figured I would go and buy another spinpoint and RAID 0 it. Hopeing for more space and faster performance.

OcUK sell the SpinPoint f3 HD103SJ. Can you forsee any problems creating a RAID from these two different disks. The cache maybe different, but I'm not sure.

They'll be fine together in RAID 0 but you'll be limited by the slower F1.
You said you're filling up the F1, you are aware that to setup RAID 0 you'll have to wipe it right? I hope you have the space to back them up too.

Your right. Yes had back up of data externally.

Bought the drive and just experiencing this bottleneck with the f1.

In atto I get 120MB/s on the F1 and 150MB/s on the F3 with the larger transfer sizes. RAIDed I get 240MB/s.

However, with the 0.5-32 size the RAID performance is only a little bit better than the F1 on its own. The F3 pulls in 30MB/s as oppose to 5MB/s on the F1 with the smaller transfers (0.5).

I've enabled write back caching in the Intel Storage Manager and performance has gone through the roof though (90-150MB/s on the smaller block sizes). But I understand the risks of this.

Still...I guess this isnt bad.
