Ever notice there are less and less comedy shows in recent years? I've read people in America saying the same things. Even comedians saying they're struggling for scripts because so many find everything offensive.
 
I can see the Skits of Dianne Abbot and David Lammy in my minds eye right now.

Dianne Abbott as a supply teacher trying to teach unruly kids Maths LOL

Or David Lammy completely incapable of seeing police officers right in front of him.


You'd see them coming well in advance but would still laugh :D

It's kind of weird that the radical left don't worship Thatcher, decimating the coal industry and just importing coal from China (aka out of sight out of mind) is the kind of thing they see as protecting the planet. It has to be one of the most radically green things to ever happen to this country. I guess she just wasn't socialist enough.

Its going to be dumbed down watered down ****e. Whos airing it? The PC backlash is going to be too horrific, unless all it does is **** off Putin and Trump... how bloody boring that would be.

Of course that what it will be, hence the timing.

The great thing about the original Spitting Image was that it was equally offensive to everyone, but unfortunately the social media outrage would be off the scale if it was the same now.

The point is the Tories went for cheap coal without a thought of people’s lives and with no replacement plan for the industries that were being lost.

Given these places were in the North of the country aka out of sight and out of mind the decision makers never really cared. These places are still suffering 3 decades later.

Yes, but that was in a different time. A time before identity politics, a hierarchy of group identities and weaponised offendedness. It would be a very brave TV company that allowed "everyone was fair game" today.
 
Ì suspect Monty Python, Not the Nine O'clock News, Drop the Dead Donkey and even the Two Ronnie's could not be shown now given the type of society we now live in.
 
I enjoyed Spitting Image back in the day and quite liked Newzoids even though it didn't last long, but the magic was lost with CGI. Definitely needs full puppetry with no special effects except for background scenes maybe. I'm assuming this will be shown after the watershed so fingers crossed the creators get free rein on the writing.
