Hi all ive just bought this game from steam, loving the game apart from some slight performance issues.

Im i right in thinking that this is yet again another console port as i get some slight lag sometimes in the game, sort off feels like the character should be moved using an controller rather than K/M.

After reading this:
http://www.techspot.com/article/277-splinter-cell-conviction-performance/page7.html

The game seems to be a resource hog at my res of 1920 by 1080.

Also the game does not use quad cpus with only about 50% utilization

After some more research,it seems the game runs a lot better with AMD cards

Im also on very new drivers for my 580 so that could be another reason,as ive said the game runs fine, just some slight lag now and again

Runs perfect for me on either GTX480 @ launch or now on my GTX580 with latest drivers @ 1920x1200 with max everything.

Do you have every setting turned on Max?

Dont get me wrong im not having massive performance issues, just slight lag sometimes, thats with all the settings on maximum, game runs nearly perfect with HDR AO etc turned off

At max settings you will hit the odd patches of lag and slowdown especially in the desert section later in the game. I play it on my rig in sig and quite happy with the performance maybe try turning down AA a little as that seems to suck the crap out of the performance

Yep max everything including 8xAA supersample.

Just tried it out again on several levels & with either x2AA or x8AA Supersampling (visually @ 1920x1200 its not worth using x8 as the difference is undetectable without a microscope) it very smooth for me even the Iraq level is fine. Never drops below 30FPS most of the time its between 35-45 FPS according to Fraps & it goes to 60FPS as well.

This is even with x16QA ingame AA settings + everything else you can set to max ingame & NV control Panel. This game looks little different between AA modes though & some of the textures in places are poor but some levels look stunning especially considering its an Unreal Engine 2.5 game !!!

Game was optimised for Core i7 980X as Intel sponsored it so not sure if that makes the difference or not!
