Split Air Conditioners - anybody got one of these?

As most have 24hour timers, would it be recommended to have it set so it comes on 2-3 hours before i come into work, and then go off an hour or so after i leave work?
Would that extra time in the morning allow it time to 'take control' of the temperature?

I doubt it would work, I had a 10k portable unit and it couldn't get my room to anything lower than 25C when the room was 32C in the summer. The room was only 14x12 and had 1 computer and marine aquarium.

They are much less efficient than split units because you have to have the window open and it uses the air in the room to cool the raadiator before blowing it out the window.

The op may need to make hole in the wall or use some lagging to stop the warm air entering the room.

Yes you can try using a timer, it might be a case of trial & error to see whats best to suite the room.
