Why does he keep dropping into midfield when they're already in possession and moving forward?

Joe Hart looks a commanding presence, it makes a change.
Doesn't look scared at all, I like it. Looks confident from the first moments.
Perhaps though if hes doesnt leave his position it will show the manager how poor our midfield is - always feels like Rooney is trying to help out his team mates and cover their weaknesses...Rooney never gets the ball when he stays up front.
