tis partly correct - they do get a base wage but they also get money per signup - apparently its a very good way for the charitys to make money though.Nelson said:

If I want to give money to a charity, I give it directly to the charity.
Similarly, I don't see why people always need a reason, like when they get given a badge, or a cuddly toy for donating. People tend to donate only when they get something back, in which case it's no longer charitable. I know the charities must still make a profit, so it does help a bit, but to me it doesn't seem like a donation when you are doing it to get something in return.
