i am having issues with my HP6L printer
that is
i go to print something and it doesnt
then if i reboot it prints it

tried to mess around with spooler things as per google advice so far with no success
any ideas welcome
>buying a new printer isnt one of em< yet :D

Usually a problem with the driver, did you use the one off the HP site or the auto-installed one, whichever you used try the other, or the universal driver from HP or even an old driver like an HPLJ4L etc as usually you can get it working with one of them.

Alternatively a batch file on the desktop that does

net stop spooler

net start spooler

will probably help lol

I have successfully identified your problem - you have a HP printer!

Unplug it and throw it out. Purchase a reliable printer from a manufacturer that actually know how to write good working drivers.

Spooler service is managed by the OS and nothing to do with the driver. Hp will tell you to install the generic driver. If that does not work, then they blame MS as you are using an OS driver. I worked for them for 10 years, so just warning how they troubleshoot.

There's a reason MS introduced features like driver isolation in 2008 R2, and that's because the spooler service failing can absolutely be affected by drivers.... with HP drivers being the cause of the overwhelming majority of issues I've been asked to investigate.
