Spore not to be released until 2008!

Gamers are being forced to wait to get their hands on Spore - the next creation by gaming legend Will Wright.

Publisher Electronic Arts has announced that the title will now be delayed until 2008.

The ambitious title lets players create and control creatures from their cellular beginnings through to when they conquer space.

Although no official release for Spore has been given by EA, it was expected to be available for Christmas 2007.

Doesn't really surprise me to be honest. Oh well, plenty of other game that will possibly keep me occupied until then. That's as long as they don't get delayed too

agreed, i'd rather wait a year for a decent game than a rushed version that requires patch after patch, and ive got too many PC games to play atm , far too many

Fiscal 2009 is April 1st, 2008 til March 31st, 2009, or something like that.

Its a crying shame but I would rather have a game that is a pleasure to play than something thats going to make me pull my hair out.

well if game makers want some cash they better release thier games before crysis is out. after that no one is gonna bother with them much.

Sure they will. Spore is a completely different genre to Crysis, It wouldn't surprise me if Spore outsold Crysis. Look how many games The Sims sell.

Not to bothered theres loads of games coming out in q3 I want, so I dont mind waiting for this one.

it's the nature now, as games get more complex so does the design time and even more the de-begging and testing time. Just doing the gfx can take years now. It's only going to get worse, especially as real physics starts to creep in.

imo they could just cut the end of the game and release it sooner. i have no interest in the civilisation aspect i just want to evolve basic bugs and pit them against other bugs in a primeval deathmatch.
