Spore

It could be truly stunning, or it could end up a bit "Black&White" which although a fine game, lacks that killer something to make it a classic.

Still it's the prospect of games like spore that make me want to keep my PC as a viable gaming platform.

The word everyone is looking for is "Procedural". Spore appears to create everything procedurally meaning that entire animations or textures are not stored but created depending on what you create which virtually enables an infinite number of combinations and user created content limited only by the users creativity...

The second big deal is the huge scope of the game, from tiny cells to civilisations and galactic war.. it looks fantastic!

oh.

I suppose its different. I hope it lives up to everyones expectations, then ill prob check it out.

In fact, thinking about it, I quite fancy creating a galactic empire from tiny cells.

I take it it doesnt run in real time, or ill be waiting a LOOOOONG time for those cells to become an empire. Few million years?

looks better and better. They are showing all the features that will said they would have when he gave the first presentation so its coming along nicely. I cant wait

lol... i would hope not... imagine... it would be the ultimate game to complete... youd have to pass your saves down through the generations

Gords Will: "to you i leave.. my Spore save game"

I thing that bugs me about Will Wrights games is the childishness/cheesiness of the games.

Fair enough its mainly aimed at younger people, but somtimes I find it quite annoying and i'm hoping Spore isn't really childish.

Just noticed EA is behind this.

That's not good....

EA has been behind most of Will Wright's projects.
They're not part of the development team, they're only publishing.

Not such a problem with Will Wrights projects. He pretty much has total control over whats there because of his previous success. Imagine if you were EA... "err No Will, we dont like that".. "Well i do, so its in or the man who created the best selling game of all time, me,.. walks"

it would be nice if there was a public beta for this looks ace

Now thats something EA wouldnt allow. Why let people taste the game and decide if they dont want it when you can let them buy it straight off...
