Same thing happened to me in 3 DRM games, its an ati issue they havent sorted out yet.

Are there nocd cracks available for this game yet? They have solved crashing issues on a good few games for me.
Finding it hard to get started on the space stage, im just getting attacked by multiple fleets every time i start to do anything. The AI attacks wave after wave with multiple ships and i can only have one completely outclassed ship and next to no planetary defenses. I cant upgrade my ship because i have no time to generate money to do so, seems a bit unfair. Maybe im missing something?

Yes 4870 ! just upgraded the drivers as well, still the same

Actually i guess you can as long as the cd is in the machine, which makes it impossible to run on both at the same time anyway.
As a "try-before-you-buyer" I have to admit that I think you're right. I never try a game and constantly slate it within about five minutes, regardless of the fact I just got it for free, but I think a lot of people who downloaded it are doing just that. Maybe to justify not buying it while they secretly play more of it it, maybe?
Edit: Speaking of which, my copy just dropped through the letterbox.
I have 4xAA/16xAF in drivers and it works 100%.

Why would you bother doing that? If I'd obtained a game illegally and liked it, I'd simply say "hey, it's pretty good - definitely worth buying". If that encourages other people to pay for the game then you can probably sleep at night knowing that you've encouraged game sales.
Erm, because I'm honest? If you download something and like it, it's worth buying isn't it.

You've misunderstood my post.
If you're going to not pay for the game and want to hide that fact/feel guilty, there are far better ways to do it than slate the game you stole.
Well my spore arrived and installed without any problems BUT I cannot log into my
spore account from within the game. Its looking like there are server problems at EA

Ah, well, when it comes down to it I think it's one of two things: -
1.) OcUK doesn't really like anything, definitely not if they've not paid for it.
2.) I think some of the people slating it aren't going to delete it just yet.
