GameSpot said:
In its early stages, Electronic Arts' forthcoming and much-anticipated game Spore was code-named Sim Everything, a play on its heritage as the newest game by The Sims creator Will Wright. But now, "sim everything" has another meaning for the company: EA is set to announce Tuesday it will release Spore later this year simultaneously for PCs and Macs. (The game is also set to arrive on the Nintendo Wii and DS at an undetermined date.)
I know this is something for the Game section but this concerns Mac Users :)

OH YES!
*Dances with joy!*

All the more reason for me to either save up for an iMac or MacBook Pro; I already need either one of them and with Spores released to run natively on OS X, I'm thrilled!

I just hope the GPU for either the iMac / MacBook Pro, by then, will more or less be capable of handling the game decently on native resolution :)

IF EA is nice (and technically foreseeable), they might release a hybrid DVD version, both Mac/PC like how WoW is distributed :D

Your thoughts?

I was quite looking forward to this, and I'll definitely give it a go when it's out, but I've really lost interest because of how long it's taking them to get it out

yeah, I agree that good things come to those who wait, but if a game is really worth it, they shouldn't need to keep hyping it. I can't remember when it was announced but it was a lonnnnnnnnnng time ago

I don't know about EA hyping it up, yes it was announced a good 18 to 24 months iirc (I remember Robin Williams playing it on some Exhibition) - it's more consumers hying it and expecting it.

I on the other hand is excited about playing it, especially when its Will Wright (?) that's making it, he will slap EA in the face if they force him to make it for a deadline. With his success of The Sims (and many Sim type games) under his belt, I'm confident he'll deliver. Just have to occupy myself with Xbox360 games will then :)
