Hello all:)

I was looking at the spotify family plan for me, me mum and brother to use. Problem is, is my bro lives round the corner so doesn't technecally live here but is here most of the day as he is my carer. Would they close the account if he uses his account at his house as the family pack is meant for the same household? I'm guessing they'd know by the diferent IP address.

Just get a normal account. Me and missus share one, can download 3k something songs between 3 devices but can only stream to one at a time

Sharing one account, sure. The 'Premium for Family' account effectively gives you six unique Premium accounts for £15 a month. The only small print being is that you must reside at the same address.

It still provides family members with access to over 30 million songs for just one price payable on a single bill. It also allows each family member to operate separate accounts so that everyone gets their own playlists, saved music, personal recommendations, and the full Spotify Premium experience.

The Premium experience includes the ability to listen offline to more than 30 million songs as well as play any song, anytime, on any device. There are no restrictions and no ads. You can learn more about the Spotify Family Plan and Premium experience from Spotify's website.

But do they check that you reside at the same address, or how could they since you can access your account from a pc anywhere?

I'm sharing with my family, and they're all at different addresses. Maybe I should have checked the small print..........

Maybe it should be called Spotify House?

I've just signed up and they pseudo-check your address.

When you set it up you enter what your address is. You then send invites out to who you want to join the Family plan, and when they accept the invite Spotify asks them to enter their address. If you enter a different address to the person who set it up, it doesn't let you in.

So all you need to do is make sure that anyone you add enters the main persons address when accepting the invites, and thats it.
