Alexis was down to 6 months left on his contract though, we'd never have got £30-40m for him by that point. The issue wasn't swapping him for Mkhitarayan, it was the fact we didn't cash in earlier. In the summer MC supposedly offered £55m for him and we should've taken that if he wasn't signing a new deal.

Would the performance of the club devalue the club?
As in potentially no european competition at all for the club? That could reduce the valye and make it a bit easier to sell to the spotify guy
