Spotify

It's as seamless as they can get it as seperate files. Plus there is a slight fade in and out on every track on Spotify.

There are a few mixes as single files, good if you are on a free account as there's no adverts for an hour.

just checked and it does seem marginally better on premium, but still not seamless

Thank you both :)

yeah I don't think it's really improveable, there isn't usually anything on a track to indicate that it should be straight to the next one without a gap. And then there's obvious things like you might not be listening to the next track next, e.g. if you've got shuffle on or you've got that one track in another playlist.
There's also only so much streaming of the next track you want it doing in advance of the current track finishing.

I just bought premium, do you have to do anything to take advantage of the 320kbps? Download a codec or something possibly?

I've gone back to free mode now, couldn't justify the price.

You have to enable "high bitrate" in the program's preferences, which is not on by default (bit crafty really). That's it.

For my needs, occassional listening to new tracks, random party playlists and killing time, the free version is perfect. £10 is just a bit too much for the benefits it would offer me.

I've had it for a while, luckily before the invite only sign-ups kicked in.

Best music related program for a good while IMO.
