Spring Break

Anybody ever gone to spring break in America?

Me and my housemates from uni are all on work placement for a year and are thinking this would be a good way of meeting up in march! Looking for going for 10 days and everybody seems well up for Miami Southbeach.

Basically want to hear of any experiences and recommendations and I know there are a few american guys on here if they have any input?

(also since they are dumb and call Autumn "fall", why isn't Spring "rise" ?)

I went to Miami during the yank's spring break last year. Loads private parties and the heat in Miami is sure nice. New York was snowing though, which in the end I only managed to stay in New York for 1 night before my flight back in UK in the morning.

All the fun in Miami are happening down town though.

What is spring break?

Spring break is the time when every college group of friends makes some extravagant road trip to somewhere exciting, usually a location with sand or numerous women.

Where to go on spring break?

This depends on where you live, those in the south east usually go to:
- Hilton Head
- Panama City (trashy)
- Miami
- Key West
- Bahamas (if you have money)
- Palm beach

Those that live on the east coast:
- Cozumel
- San Diego
- Las Vegas

What to expect on spring break:
Lots and lots of easy drunk women, lots of greek like, lots of partying.

Best places:
Miami, Bahamas, Palm beach, Panama city

Try to follow the MTV spring break as this is where most chicks will be.
This year I will be going to the Bahamas as we have free rooms at the atlantis.

If you are british spring break = EPIC WIN.

I did notice that, when I was in USA, people hear my accent and instantly reacts 10 times nicer to me, because they generally think people from UK is a gentlemen.

This also means private party invites + great customer service over the phone too, when I was estranded in the airport due to snowstorm at new york. the woman over the phone was so nice to me and even introduced places for me to visit while waiting for the plane. My friend said usually they would act like a-holes on these airport customer service lines.

I was under the impression that springbreak was about college people (under 21 therefore unable to drink in the USA) going to cancun where its legal to drink and having massive parties?

Does sound cool would love to go somewhere this year. What are the dates for spring break?

I'm sure in a few years Rotty I will, but for now we're just going out for the partys! We are students anyway!

Ken could you give any recommendations as to wear to stay in Miami? Also whats the deal with lots of private partys, is it going to be hard to get in on these? I'm guessing you get more of the older crowd in Miami anyway as you have to be 21 to drink!

Dont be so naive.

As for where to stay in Miami, I cant realy help you, when I went we stayed in ft lauderdale and just drove over however any of the hiltons/mariotts/holiday inns will suffice.

I saw Simon Cowell when I was there so you may get lucky in more ways then one
