The very first pic... Am I missing something, what's the point of bubble arches and wide wheels, when you fit stretched rubber? Isn't that just counterproductive? Presumably you could get the exact same tyre footprint with a smaller rim in normal arches. Not as wide set... But then again, if it had normal tyres that'd widen the car's total rolling width, the stretched tyres narrow it.
I don't get the stretched tyre thing at the best of times, it just looks daft to me, but usually I'll chalk it up to taste...

To fit 12" wide wheels on the car, you need the massive arches.
Of course you do, but you don't need 12" wide wheels to fit what looks like about 8 inch wide tyres. So is it just a styling exercise then? Fair enough if it is, that gets me back to taste, I thought at first the wide stance was for traction not just looks. I think it looks ridiculous but what does that matter, it's not my car. Just was wondering about the reasoning more.
