LOL the Sun is hardly the most trustworthy site lol...if you believe every story they print then you will believe that Santa Claus really does exist and pigs do fly...anyhow of course every year there are rumours that Fabregas is leaving us, its been going on for the past 2-3 yrs now...he isnt not at least this yr and if he does go then hes not going to be playing much at Barca tbh unless Xavi or Iniesta are sold off;).

Of course he wants to play for Barca, i mean who wouldnt??...they are a very good team but he would be very silly to go there knowing that he wont get regular first team football. If Barca want him then Arsenal slap a £60mill price tag on him and see if Barca cough up...if they do then let him go but i doubt it very much.

Fabregas will play for Barca someday, that's no slight on Arsenal though, he was born there, grew up there and learned football there, not to mention all his family and friends are there too. It basically makes sense as a human that he should work there too. That's all without realising that literally any player in the world would love to be part of the current Barcelona set-up since this group of players have a real shot of making history which will be remembered for some time.

That said, I'm strangely confident he won't go for a year or two.

Who says Xavi, Cesc and Iniesta can't all play? Xavi drops deeper, Cesc and Iniesta play just in front of him.

You're basically taking Yaya out and putting Cesc in. The three can also cover for each other when missing through injury/suspension.

You'd be restricting Xavi and making Barca a poorer side defensively overall.

If Barca were to sign Fabregas while Ineista and Xavi were still around then Ineista would move further foward and Xavi and Fabregas would play ahead of Busquets.

+ 1

Ineista would probably function as one of the forward three, Messi, Bojan, Ineista.

Fab / Xavi sat behind them and Busquets in front of the back four.

I think it's just a matter of time before Cesc leaves for Barca.

Could be this summer, could be next.

I've heard pretty strong rumors a while ago that the deal was all done with Cesc, it was just Arsenal that needed to come round to the idea.

I don't agree, Xavi is a better player in every respect than Busquets, and buying someone better than Pique (me, for example) would mean their defensive frailties were much better.

Doing the dirty work in midfield isn't what Xavi is about.

Busquests is a different type of midfielder / player.

As Killswitch said.
