spy state-gate

I encrypt everything anyway. Not that I have anything that needs encrypted. But if they ever do come for me I intend on making their job as difficult as possible, as is my wont. Also, bring on the wrench. If they've seen my porn history they know I like it.

Times are changing and the plebs need to wake up and face the patricians.

5 year automatic prison sentence if you don't give the password.

If you've nothing to hide......

Can't really beat that saying for situations like this, your mentality sounds like dammed if you do dammed if you don't.

I've always wondered since some of my work is covered by NDAs if I were to supply the password to police would I be breaching the NDAs. It's not specifically mentioned only that I can't release to third party regardless.

I don't think the NDA would be enforceable if it attempted to include talking to the police etc...

I'm subject to NDAs and non-compete agreements... the non-compete tries to enforce things I know it can't, the NDA is probably too broad, the employment contract tries to almost own everything I create... you sign these things in the course of your employment if you have to but you can also get advice on them - a lot of them are too wide ranging in scope just as a deterrent and plenty of people break some of the unenforceable bits as a matter of course - you practically have to sometimes when switching jobs - I know I will be at some point in my career... the real question is what can you break with no consequences, what can you break with some limited consequences etc.. what are the risks - will your new employer pay up if you break certain agreements and take a bigger risk.

NDAs cannot override your legal obligations. For example if you were under NDA and servicing a customers laptop, if you found kiddie porn on it the NDA wouldn't take away your legal obligation to report that to the police.
