SpybotSearch & destroy error

keep getting this annoying error while trying to perform a scan:

windows Vista 32bit (SP2)
new windows install (1week old)

tried uninstalling and reinstalling spybot.
done a virus check via MSE no problems
done a malware check via MBAM no problems.

any ideas guys ? :confused:

Just a wild guess... Have you configured it to check for suspicious software on a pen drive/external drive that is not plugged in currently?

nope.
bit i did fix it.
reasigned my external hard drive a new drive letter. not sure how that fixed it because it wasnt involved in the scan lol.

Do people still use this program? I stopped using it nearly 2 years ago due to it being slow and pretty much crap at detecting things especially if you compare it to malwarebytes. It was once the pride and joy but has now been binned with the likes of lavasofts Adaware.
