Hi guys, I need to pick your brains.
I'm the analyst for a call centre one of my duties is basically creating internal reports, all the system has been set up for me and I just use Query Analyzer to get information from the database then export the results into excel to distribute them among the management.

Anyway my firm wants to send me on a course in London to "learn SQL" which will help with my job, I'm not really clued up on it to be honest and want to get reading so I'm prepared and know what I need to learn.

Do you know of any books, sites or other sources you can recommend that explain it from the basics so I can get a head start?

Just an update, I've been given a couple books by one of the IT guys here, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 for dummies and Microsoft official course guide 2071B Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with Transact-SQL.
Will bury my head in them before bed, I've got a month before the course so it should be ok :)

you're so lucky. I once tried to get my company to send me on MySQL Bootcamp. Apparently, my really REALLY wanting to go wasn't enough to justify the £5k. I don't think they know how much I really want to go!
